Abstract :
A new Time-of-Flight (ToF) system with streak camera has been developed to determine the mass and energy of a heavy ion. This is first instance of application of the principle of the streak camera for a ToF detector of heavy ions. The performance test of a streak camera system was also carried out using a 10B and 12C beams of energy 2.5 A MeV. The operating principle of the new ToF detector for heavy ion detection, the expected time resolution, and the results of performance test are presented
