Abstract :
The traveling speed of vehicle has a very important effect on the occurrence of road traffic accidents and the harmfulness of the accidents. The speedometer indicated error and its distributive regularity would be researched in depth. Based on the combination of speedometer test-bed measurement and statistical analysis, the speedometer indicated error and its distributive regularity of given type passenger cars have been revealed. The research discovers that the error obey normal distribution, which parameters μ and μ2 are 38.553 0 km/h and 2.744 0 km2/h2 respectively, and establishes corresponding distributive models. Checking computation shows that the model calculating results are consistent with the sample measuring data, and the model calculating error is only 0.68%. The research has a very important effect on understanding the statistical regularity of speedometer indicated errors, pledging the vehicle traveling safety and improving speedometer design and manufacture.
