Abstract
Using intracellular recording with a microelectrode, the authors studied the changes of heart-cell action potentials after administration of fluoride. The same results were obtained in various kinds of heart cells, including atrial, ventricular, sino-atrial node, Purkinje fiber, cultured myocardial, and ventricular cells in situ. Simulation analysis based on these results suggests that fluoride can block the sodium channel, activate the potassium channel and block the calcium channel.<>
