Abstract :
An integrated receiver channel for a pulsed time-of-flight (TOF) laser radar capable of receiving laser pulses having a width of 30 to 200 ps is described here. The realized semicustom bipolar array IC includes current mode gain control, amplifiers and a timing discriminator. An avalanche photodiode (APD) was used to improve the overall responsivity of the receiver. The single-shot resolution (SSR) of the receiver channel is ±5 ps at best, and the maximum input dynamic range is about 50 dB
