Abstract
This paper discusses the development of an advanced information modeling approach linked to the use of virtual and physical resources to support the rapid assembly of micro devices. An enterprise (engineering) modeling language (eEML) is used to create this information model. An advanced micro assembly work cell is described which is interfaced to the information model and VR based assembly environment.
