Abstract :
In this paper, the behavior of sigma-delta based on the quantization noise is presented. A one-bit quantizer, which is the worst case, is considered. The sigma-delta modulator tries to send information through a comparator, which is heavily nonlinear. It is shown that information is transferred through the nonlinear static component by making use of a strong dither signal. The stability and quality of the sigma-delta modulator depends on the quality of the dither signal. The behavior of the second-order continuous-time sigma-delta is predicted based on the proposed method of study
