Abstract
An all-sputtered fabrication route to CdTe/CdS solar cells has been developed. The reproducibility of device efficiency was investigated with respect to a post-deposition CdCl2 treatment. A maximum conversion efficiency, for optimized devices, of 12.4% and an average of 9.3±2.2% was achieved. Significant re-crystallization within the CdTe and CdS layers was observed, via cross-sectional SEM, following CdCl2 treatment.
