Abstract :
Summary form only given. We describe an efficient room temperature all-solid-state laser system continuously tunable in the 1.9-10 /spl mu/m spectral range, based on the difference-frequency mixing (in proustite crystal) of the alexandrite laser radiation at 0.73-0.75 /spl mu/m and the output of a alexandrite laser-pumped LiF:F/sub 2//sup +/ color-center laser.
