Abstract
P2P IPTV systems employ P2P networks due to their scalability and potentiality to efficiently deliver different types of content to users. However, since the viability of these networks can be jeopardized by user´s selfish behavior, incentive mechanisms to stimulate cooperation among participants are required. This paper proposes two novel incentive mechanisms to the iPeer TV architecture, which were designed to increase cooperation among peers. Results show that the proposed mechanisms are capable of improving cooperation at a low cost, especially in scenarios involving streams demanding small bandwidth.
