Abstract
Advanced developments in the field of microelectronic and microsystem technologies together with powerful signal processing and soft computing algorithms are the basis for the realization of highly integrated intelligent microsystems. This paper describes such a intelligent microsystem for machine vibration monitoring. The first real world application of this microsystem is the decentralized diagnostics of bearings in large electrical motors
