Abstract
An artificial intelligent technique is proposed for online dynamic security assessment of active power systems. The approach consists of a decision tree technique. The structure and functionalities of the decision tree are described and investigated. A case study is presented with a test network model to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach. Results suggest that on-line dynamic security assessment using the proposed technique improves the classification of operating conditions significantly, with little computational time.
