Abstract
Tourism is closely linked with environmental protection. It is significant to study on the impacts to the tourism environment. This article first defines the tourism environment based on the previous researches and puts forward a set of environmental impact index system including sightseeing environment, living environment, natural environment and social environment. It then uses factor analysis method to elicit an integrated score and analyses the actuality of environmental impacts on different regions in China through the experimental research. The results have realistic guidance to tourism development planning in China. Compared to the former studies of evaluation index system on environmental impacts, this index system uses comparative indicators, which is more intuitional and more operable. The data used in this study come from public data resources and the method used is more objective
