Abstract :
Since policy is "a plan of action or a statement of aims and ideals made by a government, a business company or an individual", a contemporary government has a strategic mission. This mission is interpreted into laws, regulations, measures, public affairs management actions, etc., which inherently carry the stance of a government and its vision for the future. The advent of e-technologies and the diffusion of the Internet, mobile and other digital technologies of the Digital Age is argued to diminish the strategic importance and the scope of the role of governments. An analysis of the reasons, supported by everyday-life facts, leads us to the radical conclusion that the traditional functioning of a government may gradually dilute in the Digital Age because both its strategic mission and the context in which it is destined to play its role will lose relevance
