Abstract :
A description is presented of work being undertaken to determine the sensitivity of speech recognizers to interspeaker variation and intraspeaker variability. A database has been constructed which consists of utterances which express the complete range of speaker variation according to the values of a number of parameters which the authors believe are important to speech recognition performance. With this database, they have tested a number of speech recognizers and report on some of the results found
