Abstract
We have been measuring PMD characteristics including DGD, SOPMD, PDL, etc. over buried low DGD (0.04 ps/Vkm) fibers to gather information for higher (40 Gbps, 100 Gbps) bit rate transmission systems. Temporal and wavelength-wise properties are reported.
