Abstract

In this paper, a digital rights management (DRM) system based on smart card was proposed for digital cinema (D-Cinema). A DRM architecture was established which can be applied for application models of D-Cinema, such as register of subscriber, distribution of encrypted digital movie, purchase, authorization, play right and rights transfer. A security protocol for application models of D-Cinema was designed. The proposed system can meet the security needs of digital movie: intellectual property of D-Cinema, play right of D-Cinema and the rights transfer, privacy protection of D-Cinema subscribers.
