Abstract :
This paper proposes the use of the Biharmonic Spline Interpolation (BSI) method as a means of mapping solar radiation data given several solar radiation measurements of Puerto Rico. The method is implemented in MATLAB, producing a contour output of solar radiation. The radiation map is then validated by studying the statistical correlation of the radiation average clearness index to rainfall. It is the intention of the proposed work that this method of interpolation can be used for other geographical locations to model the solar radiation.
