  • Abstract
    A new random inverter control technique which spreads the discrete spectrum caused by the deterministic features of harmonics using conventional space vector modulation techniques, and significantly reduces calculations for high switching frequency control in real time, is presented. In comparison with other random inverter switching techniques which require several randomized sampling frequencies over a wide frequency range, the new inverter control technique requires only one regular sampling frequency. Therefore, the modifications necessary to upgrade the performance of inverter using the proposed new random inverter control technique can be easily incorporated into existing inverter-controlled motor drive systems, e.g. vector-controlled drive systems. The theoretical analysis is confirmed using experimental results derived from a microprocessor-based experimental motor drive system
