  • Abstract
    The interaction between a screw dislocation and a circular piezoelectric inhomogeneity with a crack is dealt with in this paper. The crack expands both along the interface and penetrating through the interface Utilizing the conformal mapping technique, the closed-form solutions are derived for complex potentials and stress fields due to a screw dislocation located near the crack. The image force and the stress intensity factor on the crack tips are also calculated. The influence of the orientation of the dislocation and the morphology of the crack as well as the material dissimilarity on the shielding effect and the image force is discussed in detail.
