Abstract :
Summary form only given. Four-wave mixing experiments in semiconductor optical amplifiers bring to light rich information on the nonlinear effects occurring in optical devices. These are crucial in the behavior of semiconductor lasers and amplifiers and in numerous new applications such as wavelength conversion. The new experimental investigation of the four-wave mixing phenomena described here consists in launching three optical waves into the amplifier and measuring the output spectrum.
