Abstract :
It is a challenging task on designing RFID tag-reader mutual authentication protocols that are secure, scalable and implementable on EPCglobal compatible tags. In this paper, we propose an authentication protocol for efficiently authenticating an RFID tag, which can be enhanced by providing forward security. We further build a p2p discover service to provide more scalable EPC data access than centralized databases, which can be strengthened by private p2p service. Our analysis show that our protocol is secure in a realistic security model and is cost effective considering its performance.
