  • Abstract
    The dispersion characteristics of a piezoelectric plate under the laser excitation are studied. The LAMB wave dispersion curves of the piezoelectric plate are calculated for both electrically open and closed boundary conditions. It is found that the dispersion curves of LAMB wave are greatly influenced by the electrical boundary. The spectra of the piezoelectric plate under the ablation and thermo-elastic laser excitation are also calculated. It is shown that the spectrum is dependent on the type of laser source. Although most modes of the dispersion curves can be generated under the laser excitation, the wave energy of the corresponding modes are quite different for the ablation and thermo-elasticexcitation, and this provides the possible theoretical basis for the experimental investigation.
