Abstract :
A range of WDM and hybrid WDM/OTDM applications of a multi-wavelength laser are discussed. Firstly, wavelength conversion is demonstrated at 2.488 Gbits/s in several novel WDM network configurations. Secondly multi-wavelength pulse generation is demonstrated with pulse widths of 13.2 ps and at repetition rates of 7.418 GHz. The device used in these experiments is an integrated InGaAs/InGaAsP/InP multi-wavelength laser.
