Abstract
Modeling and simulation of the advanced laser diodes is usually difficult and time-consuming due to the complexity of their material and geometrical properties and the physical processes involved in the operation. We have developed a hierarchical model that divides the simulation into several levels in order to achieve a good balance between the accuracy and the efficiency. An overview of this model, the related simulation tools, the calculated results and the comparisons are presented.
