Abstract
This paper investigates one possible method for using open source software and ¿off the shelf¿ computer components to reduce the cost of high resolution display walls. The approach is primarily based on VNC and results in drawing approximately fifty two million pixels per second. This draw rate performs sufficiently well for multiple frame / second drawing on a twenty megapixel tiled display.
