Abstract :
A highly efficient low-profile 150 W DC-DC converter module has been successfully developed for telecommunication systems. This module has an efficiency up to 85% and is only 12.7 mm high. Total power loss and the height are reduced by using synchronous output rectifiers, low-profile flat E-core transformer with planar windings, a nondissipative turnoff snubber and using optimum switching frequency. Its volume is 45.26 cm3 and its power density is 3.3 W/cm3. This module can operate at the standard industrial temperature range of -25°C~+85°C under forced air convection with a heat-sink
