Abstract :
A delay/Doppler radar altimeter (DDA) has many advantages over a conventional spaceborne radar altimeter. This paper presents new results that quantify the measurement precision improvements of a DDA when observing the ocean surface. The improvement is established through simulation, and is explained in terms of the increased amount of incoherent averaging available to the DDA
