Abstract
Large uniaxial magnetic anisotropy enables the TbFeCo amorphous films as one of the good samples for studying its magnetotransport properties. The room temperature positive magnetoresistance (MR) in TbFeCo amorphous film has already been reported. However, the origin of the magnetoresistance is still doubtful. In this study, the effects of compositional change on the magnetotransport properties of TbFeCo films have been investigated. The origin of the magnetoresistance is also clarified. A significant effect of Tb content on the MR ratio has been observed which is believed to be due to the variation of domain wall width as a function of Tb content. The MR is attributable to the spin-dependent scattering at the domain wall.
