Bristol - an urban ITS strategy founded upon European best practice

It is clear that the development and implementation paths for intelligent transport systems (ITS) are reliant upon local factors and that there is no clear blueprint that can be followed. This paper supports the hypothesis that the likelihood of succeeding with an ITS strategy can be maximised by the identification of existing best practice, and through active participation in network learning activities with organisations within the European ITS community.
