  • Abstract
    In an effort to create a paperless office, document analysis and understanding has a received a lot of attention from researchers and has undergone thorough research over last two decades. Character Recognition being an important activity in the document analysis, has become an important area of research and a lot of work has been done and number of techniques have been developed so far. However, the automatic recognition capability of computers is still way behind that of humans and is still an open area of research. In this paper, we are presenting a novel method for character recognition using two matrices: Code & Decision matrix.
