Abstract :
Using cosine or sine modulation one can design efficient filter banks. Further, using the frequency-response masking (FRM) approach, low arithmetic complexity FIR filters with narrow transition bands can be designed. In this paper we show how to combine these two techniques to design efficient M-channel modulated FIR filter banks, where the analysis filters have narrow transition bands, by properly designing one prototype filter.
