Abstract
We propose a new technique for Doppler estimation and also provide details of experimental verification of the same. The proposed method utilizes pulses of a highly Doppler tolerant signal to estimate the Doppler with very high resolution. This method is both analytically tractable and computationally efficient. We have compared various waveforms as candidate signals for this technique and have derived performance bounds for the estimation and the estimate resolution using simple physical insights into the problem. The details of the experimental verification of the theoretical principles is also mentioned.
