Abstract
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated optical phase conjugation via four-wave mixing and self-pumped phase conjugation with an external cavity in the DX material CdF/sub 2/:Ga. Room-temperature, low optical power cw operation was achieved by employing plasma gratings with temperature-tunable lifetimes. Phase conjugation reflectivity as high as 50% was demonstrated at the temperature of T=12/spl deg/C in four-wave mixing experiments while a self-pumped phase-conjugation reflectivity of 3% was achieved with the sample placed inside a resonant cavity.
