  • Abstract
One of the simplest methods of magnetic levitation technology is the repulsive-type magnetic levitation using permanent magnets. Utilizing of this type of bearing makes the system configuration simple and reduces the number of peripheral devices, because only one direction is needed to be controlled. A balance system employing the repulsive-type magnetic bearing is manufactured in our lab for measuring micro-masses. The proposed configuration and the basic operating characteristics of the system are presented in this paper.
