Abstract
In this paper, the power density is increased with a method of inserting core between windings of each phase of slotless PMLSM model. By inserting core, detent force is generated due to dispersion of air gap magnetic reluctance. Thrust ripples are generated due to that detent force. Therefore, we proposed the method of dividing permanent magnet (PM) in order to reduce the higher harmonics of the magnetic flux. Also. to increase the low thrust by dividing PM, the optimum design of stator is progressed. Throguh 2-D finite element analysis (FEA), the characteristic analysis were computed. Also, through the analysis of harmonic component of thrust, the removal of specific harmonic component of thrust and the reduction of detent force were confirmed.
