Abstract
Networked measurement has become a hotspot in measurement technology. The networked measurement systems based on middleware hold characters such as flexibility, scalability, interoperability, maintainability, reusability and etc, which are the targets pursued by modern measurement systems. In the paper, a platform based on CORBA for open networked measurement system, named NMOP, is detailed. Firstly, the architecture of networked measurement system based CORBA is introduced. Secondly, three key components in NMOP, instrument object, real time ORB and event service, are detailed. (1) Physical instrument is encapsulated into instrument object which hides the details of acquiring data and show unified views in distributed environment. (2) The real time ORB is designed in order to meet deterministic and predictable requires. (3) Event service is introduced into platform in order to realize asynchronous communication and loose coupling in networked measurement system.
