Abstract :
This paper presents a time-continuous optimization method that can be used for automatic adjustment of gain and phase imbalances in the feedforward and LINC transmitters. Details on how it can be implemented are given. In contrast to algorithm-based optimization techniques, this method does not require any decisions to be made while operating and can be realized with a continuous-time analog circuitry. The functionality of the method has been verified by means of simulations and results demonstrate that it is sufficient to suppress the out-of-band power of the radio transmitters for wireless communications.
