Abstract
In this paper, the results of 2-D finite element (FE) analysis conducted on an 8/6 switched reluctance motor (SRM) for studying the effects of nonuniform airgap on the overall static torque profile is presented. Two types of nonuniformity viz. (i) relative eccentricity between the stator and the rotor axes and (ii) concentricity error in rotor geometry are considered in this work.
