Abstract :
This paper presents a novel stator and pole shapes, which improve the developed torque of the switched reluctance (SR) hub motors. SR hub motors are highly efficient, reliable and economical and are suitable for hard disk drives, electric bicycles, lawn movers, washing machines, etc. The use of CAD (computer aided design) program and FE analysis were also used to improve the motors performance.
