Abstract

This paper reports the results of studies on energy production by using poultry manure. The use of biomasses is encouraged all over the world due to the increasing prices of oil and natural gas and the growing concern for pollution and CO₂ emissions as well as to the possibility of using local resources and help local economies. The main techniques for the energy transformation of poultry manure are investigated and some practical examples are explained in details. Data on Italian and European poultry meat development are also reported.
