Abstract
In this study we have tried the direct Joule heating of the storage layer in the reversal of the magnetization. We used amorphous TbFe alloy as a storage layer which is often used in magneto-optical recording because of relatively low Curie temperature of about 290 K and intrinsic magnetic anisotropy with the easy axis perpendicular to the film plane.
