Abstract
A mathematical model of electromagnetic stimulation of a peripheral nerve axon in a limb is presented. The model predicts the distribution of transmembrane potential along the axon, and the shape of the tissue volume that is stimulated. It is shown that threshold stimulus strength is inversely proportional to the square of the axon diameter
