Abstract :
Monte Carlo simulation softwares for nuclear medicine have become fundamental tools for PET, SPECT and more recently X-Ray CT system design and prototyping. This paper proposes a method to allow the execution of GATE simulations in a shared-memory multi-core system. The work is an adaptation of a previous distributed meory model for GATE, and it is fundamentally based on the multithreaded version of Geant4.
