Abstract
The global economy is changing. Service industry will be an important driving force for sustainable economy and a major solution to the serious employment issue. Meanwhile, service industry is transforming caused by globalization, IT and cross industry integration, etc. Therefore, modern service industry is proposed. Although lots of countries advocated the promotion modern service industry, there is still lacking large-scale booming of new service practices. Based on many years - research and experiences gained from practices, Dr. Ding points out formalized know how generation should be strengthened to accelerate SSME development and build modern service industry. Some examples are illustrated to show this outside in approach. Furthermore, a new view of research, education and practice evolution is proposed, which will be important to the success of SSME.
