Abstract
In this paper the distributed generation impact on the stability and control of power distribution networks is analyzed from the point of view of voltage limits and power losses. The analysis allows us to propose control actions optimizing the operation of a radial distribution network using elements such as transformers, capacitor banks and the distributed generation units themselves. We also propose a new algorithm to be incorporated into the current Distribution Management System in order to maximize the penetration of distributed generation while maintaining the technical safety levels.
