Abstract :
The initiation and successful management of projects is increasingly influenced by factors that are external to actual project activity. Decisions made in the management of these factors are pertinent to the commercial success of a project´s results rather than the overall achievement of project objectives. The effect of these external influences is to place, higher and more demanding, management and reporting performance criteria on project activities. The author discusses the project financing relationships, collaborative, sub-contracting and supplier relationships, and then describes a business management systems architecture or electronic virtual office to aid in project management. The author discusses the business overview, management system architecture and the model analysis levels-infrastructure services, data management, information management, and executive business management
