Abstract :
The work described in this paper deals with the analytical design and optimization of a line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPM) with a series magnetic circuit structure. The design approach considers a LSPM as an induction motor (IM) combined with a permanent magnet rotor arrangement and takes into account the characteristics of both asynchronous and synchronous regimes.
