Abstract :
Identity Management is the process of employing emerging technologies to manage information about the identity of users and control access to company resources. The goal of identity management is to improve productivity and security while lowering costs associated with managing users and their identities, attributes, and credentials The overall objective of Identity management security is an integral part of many organizations´ business strategies. It is also the starting-point for most single sign-on environments. Single sign-on is designed to reduce the number of logins that a user has to remember and thereby create a more efficient and streamlined work environment for the user. This paper provides a way the SSO is used to achieve Authentication-Proving who the user is?,Authorization-Determining access rights and user privileges, Access control-Managing means of access and Audit- Reporting and audit controls.
