Abstract
This paper discusses a high power, edge-resonant power converter with a wide soft-switching load range. The converter uses a novel saturable series inductor, with a large inductance variation. The saturable inductor and the transformer magnetizing inductance provide the reactive energy required to maintain zero voltage switching (ZVS). The paper also discusses information on measurement results for the nonlinear MOSFET output capacitance (Coss)
