Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated an addressable WDM laser using a 4/spl times/8 phased array waveguide grating wavelength monitoring circuit. The tuning control is based on an planar lightwave circuit, which is self-contained and self-learning to adapt to changes of the device and/or environment. Rapid and accurate wavelength tuning characteristics makes it an attractive light source for reconfigurable WDM systems.
